Rotary Global Grants

Rotarians and the Rotary Foundation are actively involved in promoting the microflush toilet.  Global Grants are projects involving two or more Rotary Clubs, one in the country where the project is done, and at least one other in another country.

The Rotary Foundation has Seven Areas of Focus, and the microflush toilet is relevant to four of those seven areas:

  • Providing clean water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Fighting disease
  • Growing local economies

Under the leadership of Walter Hughes, a Rotarian from Union Hall, Virginia, USA, the following Rotary Global Grants have addressed the need for the microflush toilet:
